DEVELOPMENTS IN PROGRESS &/OR PROPOSED

THE BEST OF BOTH WORLDS

That’s The Acres in Springbank.

It’s where the unspoiled scenic majesty and foothills lifestyle you want, meet the civilized conveniences you need.

Just when you never thought you’d never see the words “Springbank”, “mountain view”, “city amenities”, “neighbourly community”, and “fresh air” in the same sentence, along comes The
Acres.

For many Calgarian families, the realities and requirements of day-to-day living overcome the romantic notion of moving out to the foothills. The Acres lets your wants play together with your needs more than ever before.

Off the grid on some vast, lonely acreage in the foothills? Nope. This architecturally cohesive community will be a real neighbourhood. And it will be more on the grid than most of downtown Calgary. It will boast its own water supply, use sustainable power generation, and light-speed, gigabit fibre Internet. It will be a short commute to both public and private schools, and minutes from Bingham Crossing, the comprehensive shopping and lifestyle centre in the heart of Springbank.

But it will also offer residents stunning views, fresh air, river access, and a refreshing outlook on life that the city can never hope to provide. Hiking, biking, fly fishing, and cross-country skiing will be, quite literally, on the doorstep; Calgary’s top championship level golf course just a short putt away, and everything the Rockies have to offer will be a short, 45-minute drive — with no traffic lights!

At last, a community that will let you have your cake, and eat it too.

As a resident here, you won’t just live on the edge of the beautiful Elbow River, you’ll live on the cutting edge of environmental sustainability and technological innovation.

Improve your lot in life. But do it quickly, there will only be 49 of them.

Bingham Crossing Updates

Bingham Crossing

2019 Fall/Winter update

PHASE I- DEVELOPMENT PERMIT APPROVED

We are excited to share that the Development Permit for Phase I at Bingham Crossing was approved this past Fall. One appeal was received from the community and it was heard at the Development Appeal Board at Rocky View County, however it was dismissed.  As such, the Development Permit is now approved. This permit includes infrastructure including the internal roadways and retail planned at the project.

PHASE II- MSDP

Currently, our efforts have been focused on completing leasing on Phase I with discussions underway with several national and local retailers.

On July 14, 2020, Rocky View County Council approved Rencor Developments Inc. (Rencor), Phase 2 Master Site Development Plan for Bingham Crossing. Phase 2 proposes the development of a comprehensively planned large-format anchor building and related commercial retail. “This is a significant and exciting step forward for Bingham Crossing and its co-owners, a project that has been underway for 13 years,” says Ron Renaud, President of Rencor. “Bingham Crossing is an important project for the nearby communities of Springbank and Harmony and will bring much needed, conveniently-located amenities into the area.”

Now that Phase 2 has received approval, Rencor will focus its efforts on pursuing lease agreements with a range of potential tenants, including a large format anchor. As lease agreements move forward, Rencor will also pursue a Development Permit application to allow for eventual construction.

The Development Permit for Phase 1 of the project was previously approved in September 2019 and will include a variety of commercial retail services, office spaces, a range of housing options including seniors housing and other amenities.

Bow Water & Land

Bow Water & Land (BW&L) is a landowner in Springbank with a vision for future development within the community.

BWL owns approximately 300-acres, located immediately west of Calaway Park adjacent to the Trans-Canada Highway and near the Range Road 33 interchange, and 6km from the west edge of Calgary - in the gateway corridor to the Foothills and Rocky Mountains.

The active core of Springbank has four schools, a community centre, outdoor and recreation uses at Springbank Park for All Seasons, and several residential developments including the new community of Harmony. Future development on BW&L’s lands will add economic benefit and job opportunities to Springbank, complementing existing uses, and enhancing regional significance and attraction for Springbank and Rockyview County.

BW&L sets its goals on strategic and sustainable development, and to enhance the existing - and growing - regional community of Springbank. BW&L sees a unique opportunity to create a new destination for activities, shops, meeting places, services and other complimentary uses that will serve both local residents and regional guests while attracting visitors and travellers to enjoy a gateway glimpse into the spectacular community of Springbank.

Active in the Springbank Area Structure Plan process underway with Rockyview County, BW&L has been getting to know the neighbours through various activities, including its information booth at the annual Old Tyme Fall Fair at Springbank Park for All Seasons.

While visiting and communications have slowed due to COVID-19, the team at BWL hope you check out more at our website: https://bowwaterandland.ca/. And we look forward to providing more ways to connect in the future.

Harmony Updates

Community of the Year - Calgary Region

It’s not every day that you are named BILD Calgary’s Community of the Year – Calgary Region, but to receive the honour for the fourth time is outstanding!

We have always believed that Harmony is special – a community full of stunning amenities and often boast about how our residents brought to life our vision of what community means. To have our industry peers agree with us just makes us even more proud to be apart of something truly amazing.

Our goal was to re-think what community means, create a space for individuals and families to flourish and believed strongly in providing an outlet for an active lifestyle. That’s why, even though our community is still in the early phases of development we have already built a stunning 40-acre fresh-water lake (with another 100-acre lake to come); beaches; pathways; playgrounds; and a new Adventure Park. Harmony is also home to the Mickelson National Golf Club, which is on track to be one of Canada’s top courses. And we aren’t finished, we can’t wait to see what the future has to hold.

Adventure Park Joins Amazing Amenities in Harmony

As Springbank’s first lake community overflowing with impressive amenities, Harmony truly is hard to forget. Built off the concept of a small village that balances life’s need for work and play, Harmony has brought to life the vision of a sustainably built, mixed use, master-planned community.

To name a few of Harmony’s existing amenities; the community offers a pristine 40-acre lake – soon to be joined by another 100-acres; 12 km of pathways that connect to regional trails, such as Old Banff Trail; multiple beaches; playgrounds; and a thrilling 18-hole golf course at Mickelson National Golf Club – all right here in Harmony.

And new this year is Harmony’s year-round, activity-packed Adventure Park! The park includes a flow and pump track, a skating ribbon, a toboggan hill, a beach volleyball court, and just open this summer; a climbing wall, ninja course, and dog park! With Harmony’s focus on supporting a healthy lifestyle, this community truly stands apart from the crowd.
